Summary
Bako Gabor is an experienced system administrator and IT educator with two decades of hands-on practice designing and running Linux-first infrastructures for schools, government health agencies and private firms. He combines deep expertise in LAMP stacks, Django-based web solutions and CMS deployments with practical skills in virtualization (Xen, KVM, VMware, VirtualBox), structured networking (Cisco, HPE, Aruba) and secure remote access (OpenVPN). His day-to-day work spans server and mail gateway operations, backup and monitoring ecosystems (Bacula, BackupPC, Munin, Nagios, Icinga, Zabbix) and firewall/appliance management (pfSense, Stormshield), while also administering Windows Server domains and Group Policy where needed. As an IT teacher he has a rare dual perspective—able to both architect resilient production systems and explain them to students and colleagues—having deployed Moodle, Nextcloud/OwnCloud and other educational platforms. He has a practical, open-source mindset and often implements solutions end-to-end, from custom PHP or Python/Django bits to front-end tweaks in JavaScript/CSS. Based in Hungary, he currently supports national public health IT services while continuing to evolve his monitoring and automation toolset.
