Top SchoolBarbie is a seasoned software architect and open-source author with 22 years of experience transitioning from C and embedded systems to Perl-led web and backend platforms. She has led engineering teams and shaped cross-brand platform architecture at major hosting providers, blending hands-on development, QA automation and product-focused business analysis. A long-time CPAN contributor and founder/leader of Birmingham Perl Mongers, she pairs community-building and conference organisation with practical delivery of scalable systems.
