Top SchoolBaron Kwan is a Regional Data Engineer with a decade of experience turning messy operational and corpus data into reliable pipelines and actionable insights across finance, luxury retail, and tech. A UC San Diego Management Science graduate with an Accounting minor, he has led large migrations from legacy SAS to Python/Spark on AWS and improved ETL systems that process tens of millions of records. His background spans hands-on NLP corpus curation for Cantonese machine translation, enterprise data engineering at DBS and Richemont, and practical product-focused IT work in export sales—bringing both technical rigor and business context to solutions. Multilingual in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, Baron often automates repetitive workflows to free teams for higher-value analysis, reflecting his mix of developer curiosity and data-driven decision making. He’s equally comfortable profiling model performance with statistical metrics and operationalizing pipelines for production use, making him a pragmatic connector between data science and engineering.
