Top SchoolBassit Owolabi is a Senior Backend Engineer based in Ibadan with six years of experience and a strong focus on building scalable Node.js server-side applications. He has delivered production systems across fintech, marketplace, and SaaS domains—implementing features like geospatial proximity search, rate limiting, payment integrations, and card issuance—often improving performance and reliability through Redis, queues, and caching. Comfortable leading small teams and mentoring developers, he blends a design-minded, logic-driven approach with pragmatic engineering: reducing failure rates by 50% at Fastamoni and cutting search times by 30% at Wasset. Bassit pairs a Statistics degree with hands-on infrastructure experience (AWS S3/EC2, WebSockets) and a habit of mapping errors and tests to ensure predictable, auditable APIs. Notably, he often tackles operational edge cases—brute-force protection, read-through caches, and geolocation notifications—turning product problems into resilient backend solutions.
