Summary
👤
SeniorBedford West is a senior software engineer and people-focused engineering leader with 11+ years of experience building reliable systems and scaling teams across startups, fintech, academia, and now Meta Infra Data Centers. He blends deep hands-on technical skills in Python, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and automation with a track record of creating engineering enablement functions (test engineering, TPM, DevOps) and turning processes into measurable outcomes. Bedford is equally committed to psychological safety and DEI—he actively builds trust with direct reports, mentors career growth, and has led company-wide DEI initiatives and hiring practice improvements. He’s delivered at scale on data-intensive projects (Gen3 data commons powering petabytes of research data) and still sharpens his craft through indie game development and experimenting with new languages and tools in spare time.
