Top SchoolBen Chalmers is a founder and experienced engineering leader with 13 years of professional experience building secure, high-performance software and scaling teams across startups and large enterprises. As Founder & Director of Engaged Intelligence and former director of client applications at ExpressVPN, he blends hands-on development (AWS, React, TypeScript) with strategic work on trust, information security, and product validation. He has led cross-functional engineering organizations, reduced hiring cycle times while increasing hiring throughput, and coached companies in agile transformations from team to executive levels. Comfortable in early-stage trenches, he performs technical due diligence, codebase and process reviews, and serves as a fractional technical co-founder to help nascent startups move from idea to measurable product outcomes. Based in the Greater Cambridge area and Cambridge-educated in Computer Science, he pairs low-level systems experience (device drivers, hypervisor work) with modern cloud-native stacks to solve both infrastructure and product problems.
