Senior🎓
Top SchoolBen Dechrai is a seasoned technologist and Staff Developer Advocate based in Melbourne with 11 years of professional experience and over 18 years of hands-on software engineering and leadership across startups, agencies, and enterprise projects. He blends developer-first technical depth—solutions architecture, security, and API design—with strong community building and public speaking, having keynoteed international conferences and co-founded events like BuzzConf and Baloney Events. Ben has repeatedly moved projects from concept to production, saving teams months through pragmatic architecture and developer productivity improvements (an example being an 18 person-months estimate saved on a mobile API project). Equally comfortable in pre-sales and CTO-for-hire engagements, he pairs strategic business analysis with a practical engineer’s mindset to deliver measurable outcomes. Colleagues know him for creating playful, low-pressure spaces to practice technical communication as well as for his knack for smoothing developer workflows and stabilizing delivery environments.
