Senior🎓
Top SchoolBen Melton is a Sr. Staff Engineer specializing in front-end digital IC design and architecture with 13 years of experience across FPGA/ASIC flows and multiple successful semiconductor tape-outs. He holds a B.S. from VCU and an M.Eng. from UVA and has delivered end-to-end RTL, integration, verification and post-tapeout bring-up for complex SoCs and peripherals. Ben has led design efforts at companies tackling cutting-edge compute — from low-power asynchronous architectures and novel on-chip interconnects to CNN kernel optimization for embedded cores. He pairs hands-on RTL and toolchain expertise (Cadence, Synopsys) with system-level architecture judgment and a track record of first-silicon success. Based in Thousand Oaks, CA, he moves comfortably between research-driven asynchronous circuit techniques and production-grade digital design. Notably, he architected an asynchronous peripheral interconnect that achieved timing-independent communication and worked across multiple roles from individual contributor to manager.
