Top SchoolBen Nelson is a Senior IT Consultant with 13 years of experience blending systems engineering, backend development, and security practices across enterprise and media-focused products. Currently supporting Goldman Sachs on Windows infrastructure automation at ITC Infotech, he previously led greenfield Scala/Akka services and containerized deployments for high-profile newsroom and automotive clients. Comfortable from low-level Solaris/Windows administration and cryptographic equipment in the Army Reserve to architecting Ruby on Rails and NoSQL web apps, he brings a rare mix of operational rigor and software craftsmanship. He mentors junior engineers, enjoys hands-on feature development, and has a track record of shipping award-winning newsroom platforms. Based in El Paso, he holds an MS in Information Systems and a background in military intelligence that informs his disciplined, security-minded approach to engineering. Unusually, he describes himself as a "Mugwump," hinting at an independent, principled style behind his practical technical leadership.
