Top SchoolBen Pickett is a freelance software developer with a decade of experience building full-stack web applications, notably using Silverstripe PHP, SASS-driven front ends, CI tooling, and AWS. He has worked across public and private sectors, including senior engineering at New Zealand's Ministry of Education and ongoing roles at Deviate Ltd and as an independent consultant. Comfortable owning projects end-to-end, he pairs strong independent problem-solving with clear team communication and a passion for continuous self-directed learning. With a Bachelor in Computing and Mathematical Science (Web Development), he is now broadening into software architecture and cyber security—bringing a practical, security-conscious lens to traditional web stacks. An under-the-radar strength is his ability to translate government-grade requirements into maintainable, CI-backed codebases that meet both compliance and user needs.
