Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolBen Sherman is a DevSecOps engineer with nine years’ experience designing and operating cloud-native platforms, currently building secure infrastructure at Thankyou Payroll from Wellington, NZ. He has led large migrations and platform builds—migrating ~100 microservices to Azure AKS, implementing RBAC/SSO across EKS clusters, and standardising GitHub and CI/CD workflows using Terraform, FluxCD and GitHub Actions. Comfortable across full-stack and ops work, he pairs Linux sysadmin experience with production Kubernetes, networking, certificate automation and cost-conscious architecture (Application Gateway/WAF, Key Vault, cert-manager). He’s pragmatic about tooling, having authored guidelines for autonomous coding tools like GitHub Copilot and automated large-scale GitHub organisation reorganisations. Colleagues describe him as detail-oriented and collaborative, motivated by solving customer problems in context rather than chasing technology for its own sake.
