Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolBen Smith is a pragmatic senior full-stack engineer with 12+ years of commercial experience building scalable web and mobile platforms using TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, React (inc. Next.js), GraphQL and .NET Core. He has delivered high-impact features across diverse domains—Fintech, Media, Life Sciences, Defence (DV/SC cleared), PropTech and Hospitality—often owning end-to-end journeys from backend APIs to polished SPAs and mobile clients. Comfortable in cloud-native and DevOps environments, he routinely applies microservices, serverless (AWS/Azure), TDD and SOLID principles to ship well-tested, maintainable systems. He pairs technical depth with product-minded experimentation (A/B/n, feature flags) and has led consent/auth solutions, payment integrations and high-traffic consumer experiences. An active learner and community participant (StackOverflow and GitHub), he favors practical automation to work smarter, not harder. Based in Cambridge, he blends consultancy experience with in-house engineering at scale, most recently contributing to customer journeys for EDF and consumer sites at Carwow and Abcam.
