Top SchoolBen Straatsma is an AWS Engineer with 11 years of software experience blending cloud infrastructure, full-stack development, and test automation. He founded and led development of Friend Request, a cross-platform social aggregator he shipped to both iOS and Android, teaching himself React Native, Android, MongoDB, and AWS along the way. At BioConnect and AWS he designed secure cloud integrations and microservices, and earlier roles show a strong track record raising test coverage and automating CI processes. Comfortable across TypeScript, .NET, SQL, and cloud-native patterns, he bridges developer and QA perspectives to build reliable, production-ready systems. Based in Toronto, he pairs entrepreneurial curiosity with practical engineering discipline and a history of turning prototypes into shipped products.
