Top SchoolBen Tsai is a product-minded software engineering leader and mentor who blends 13+ years of hands-on development with 15 years of leadership experience to improve collaboration between engineering, UX, and product teams. Based in Pittsburgh, he drives human-centered design at scale—founding a UX guild at Cisco, modernizing large security UIs, and coaching CMU Master of Software Engineering teams on product discovery. He excels at reducing friction across functions, fostering healthy team culture, and turning cross-disciplinary practice into measurable customer value (including achieving a company-high NPS after a UI modernization). Known for bridging strategy and execution, he teaches and develops UX curriculum while still shipping software as a technical leader and scrum master. An understated strength is his ability to institutionalize collaboration practices—scrum and guilds—that persist beyond individual projects.
