Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolBen Whetton is a software and control-systems engineer with nine years’ experience building simulation, optimization and embedded software for complex physical systems, currently shaping autonomous subsea robotics at CloudNC and formerly SeeByte. He designs clean, well-tested C++ and Python systems, architects APIs and acceptance test frameworks, and drives team-wide improvements in code quality and development processes. His background leading control-system R&D at a motor start-up gave him hands-on experience in multi-disciplinary optimisation, power electronics, and test-rig development, plus the ability to translate rapid customer needs into long-term tooling and algorithmic value. Comfortable across simulation, embedded firmware and cloud-deployed services, he has a knack for refactoring legacy code under test and inventing novel control and modelling techniques that unlock product performance. Unusually, he once built a widely used Keras pruning library during a sabbatical, reflecting both practical curiosity and an ongoing interest in machine learning.
