Senior🎓
Top SchoolBenjamin Der Ehe is a pragmatic senior software engineer with 13+ years of experience building full-stack web and mobile products, currently focused on frontend and design systems work. He has deep expertise in JavaScript, CSS, HTML and the browser platform, balanced by backend fluency in Python, C# and Go, and a history of shipping high-impact features like Stack Overflow’s chat, markdown toolchain, and a performant tag-suggestion ML algorithm. Comfortable crossing domains, he has moved between engineering, Android development and product management, and served as Stack Overflow’s sole Design Developer to scale unified themes and component libraries. He mentors engineers, runs security and onboarding sessions, and helped formalize product strategy and A/B-driven workflows. Based in Berlin, he blends hands-on implementation with a user-centered mindset and a taste for digging into platform internals when pragmatic solutions are needed. An early Stack Overflow hire, he’s known internally as the go-to person for tricky CSS, JS, web security and regular-expression problems.
