Top SchoolBenjamin Kanouse is a Senior Software Engineer with 13 years of experience specializing in Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and performance optimization, now contributing at Cisco Meraki. He has led teams up to 20 engineers and driven large-scale systems—most notably a multi-terabyte analytics platform handling tens of millions of daily page views and a profitable space-booking product from concept to launch. A disciplined advocate of test-driven development and agile practices, he repeatedly improved scalability and reduced downtime through hands-on incident leadership and migrations from Heroku to Kubernetes on AWS. His background in computational and applied mathematics underpins a data-driven approach to engineering, including building ETL pipelines and statistical analyses earlier in his career. He also writes about engineering on his personal blog and maintains an online resume, reflecting a habit of documenting technical decisions and processes.
