Top SchoolBenjamin Nelson is a senior software engineer with 13 years of experience building and operating cloud-native, revenue-impacting backend systems and data platforms at scale. He brings deep hands-on expertise across AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD, and has rebuilt billing systems and engineered cost-saving analyses that materially reduced cloud spend. Benjamin has shipped distributed, event-driven architectures and managed service components (including Kubernetes operators and Apache Pulsar work) across multiple languages and stacks, while improving reliability, observability, and developer velocity. Comfortable spanning product-facing APIs to internal platform engineering and DevOps, he pairs technical ownership with cross-functional collaboration across product, data, and infrastructure teams. Based in St. Louis, he combines entrepreneurial roots as a former CTO/co-founder with a pragmatic, people-centered approach to engineering—building with curiosity and compassion.
