Summary
👤
SeniorBernie Durfee is a seasoned engineering executive with 25+ years of experience who currently serves as VP of Engineering, building AI-powered K–12 learning platforms and founding in-house teams to replace outsourced systems. He blends deep hands-on architecture—cloud migrations, infra-as-code, and enterprise CI/CD—with strategic leadership honed at GE where he led a 200+ app cloud migration and created an enterprise Software Engineering Competency Center. Bernie has repeatedly scaled teams and products to drive revenue and reliability improvements (including a 4x lift at eduCLIMBER) while keeping close involvement in code and cloud implementation. Based in Ballston Spa, NY, he pairs technical rigor from a Computational Science degree with executive development from GE Crotonville, favoring pragmatic tradeoffs that balance speed, quality, and cost.
