Bharatendra Boddu is a VP Distinguished Engineer based in the San Francisco Bay Area with over two decades of experience designing massively scalable, high-performance distributed systems and storage platforms. He led architecture and engineering for Cloudian’s HyperStore, inventing RDMA-over-S3 and GPU-direct object storage to accelerate AI training and inference, and holds multiple patents for these innovations. His work spans mission-critical telco messaging, 3D social platforms, real-time supply-chain tracking, and multi-hundred-petabyte object stores that have run in production for a decade at major carriers. A hands-on leader, he built and scaled global R&D teams, improved cluster expansion from single-node to multi-node growth, and created self-healing, high-throughput metadata and blob layers. Notably, he partnered closely with NVIDIA, AMD and Micron to ship industry-first GPU/AI storage integrations and contributed open-source connectors enabling PyTorch to run on on-prem object storage. Trained in software engineering and networking, he combines deep systems-level expertise with a strategic eye for product-market fit and operational resilience.
