Summary
🎓
Top SchoolBilal Jamil is a Senior Data Scientist in Quito who specializes in building large-scale ML systems that automate enterprise finance workflows, particularly transaction matching and anomaly detection. At BlackLine he led R&D that turned experimental NLP and embedding techniques into production—co-inventing a patent-pending matching algorithm and scaling an embedding + ONNX inference pipeline to process ~420M GL transactions/month while cutting runtime and costs substantially. He combines strong engineering (Python, Spark, Snowflake, ONNX) with product impact—shipping features cited in earnings releases and driving automation rates well above targets. Earlier roles span billing operations and sales analytics, giving him deep domain knowledge of financial processes and instrumentation. He holds an MS in Data Analytics and Visualization and is notable for translating research-scale models into real-time services used by hundreds of finance controllers.
