Senior🎓
Top SchoolBill Curtis is the CTO of Smile.io with 14 years of software engineering experience and a decade-plus tenure at the company he helped grow since 2011. A University of Waterloo software engineering graduate, he blends hands-on technical leadership with product-focused execution to scale loyalty and e-commerce systems from prototype to production. Based in Kitchener, Ontario, Bill is known for recruiting and building engineering teams—now hiring a Director of Engineering—and for maintaining a developer-friendly culture that keeps technical debt and velocity balanced. He brings practical startup grit paired with deep institutional knowledge of Smile’s stack and operations, and is as likely to be found debugging a deployment as mentoring a new engineer over coffee.
