Bill Lamie is a veteran real-time operating systems architect and serial founder who has authored industry-leading RTOSes including Nucleus, ThreadX, and PX5. As President and CEO of PX5 RTOS and RTOSX, he continues to shape embedded software used across constrained and safety-critical devices, drawing on decades of product leadership from Accelerated Technology and Express Logic. He served as Principal PM for Azure RTOS at Microsoft, bridging commercial cloud ecosystems with deterministic edge and embedded platforms. Based in San Diego, he combines deep kernel-level engineering with entrepreneurial execution and a knack for turning low-level innovations into widely licensed middleware. An early computer science graduate, he still actively codes and leads the technical direction of modern RTOS development while stewarding legacy ecosystems many devices still depend on.
