Top SchoolBilly Whited is a design-focused engineering leader with 13 years of experience scaling front-end teams and design systems across large enterprises, currently serving as Director of Developer Experience at Best Buy. He has repeatedly grown small teams into disciplined, cross-functional organizations—most recently guiding 40+ front-end engineers and championing Team Topologies to improve flow and engagement. Billy combines hands-on UI engineering (Node.js, PostCSS, Angular-era patterns) with strategic influence, creating custom tooling that cut licensing costs and enabled version-controlled design assets. He’s known for bridging product, design, and engineering to deliver reusable, scalable UI infrastructure and for instituting design operations where none existed before. Based in Minneapolis, he blends an arts education with practical systems thinking, bringing a creative eye to enterprise developer experience.
