Senior🎓
Top SchoolBjörn Mayer is a Java backend developer with nine years of experience building web applications, currently focused on backend services at trivago after evolving from PHP to Kotlin and Java roles. Based in Wegberg, Germany, he brings practical full-stack roots from early work at ITK Rheinland where he shipped PHP-based web products like the Kita-Navigator. At trivago since 2016 he has incrementally modernized his stack, moving from PHP to Kotlin and now Java, demonstrating a pragmatic approach to language and platform migration. Colleagues would describe him as steady and content in his role, combining reliable delivery with a preference for clean, maintainable server-side code. He values long-term ownership of services and quietly balances engineering craftsmanship with a low-key, team-oriented mindset. Despite a modest public footprint on GitHub, his consistent professional progression signals strong hands-on experience in production backend systems.
