Blake Riley is a senior scientist and computational structural biologist with 11 years’ experience applying protein modelling, design, and biophysical methods to enable therapeutics and drug discovery. He combines deep learning tools (AlphaFold, ProteinMPNN) with classical approaches (MD simulations, Rosetta, X-ray multi-conformer modelling) to probe links between protein evolution, dynamics and allostery. At Replay he led multi-project protein engineering efforts and commissioned HPC infrastructure, and his postdoctoral work produced qFit 3, a scientific software package for multiconformer crystallographic modelling. He holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Monash and dual undergraduate degrees in Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Science, which inform a pragmatic, design-oriented approach to protein therapeutics. Blake has authored 19 peer-reviewed papers (7 as first/co-first author) and is based in New York, bringing both academic rigor and production-focused engineering to translational protein science. An under-the-radar strength is his hands-on experience spanning wet lab crystallography, software development and HPC administration, enabling end-to-end project delivery.
