🤩
RockstarBob Salmi is a Senior Software Engineer specializing in high-scale networking and cloud backend systems, with deep expertise in Go microservices, routing protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF), and network OSes like Junos and IOS-XR. He has driven networking control-plane and infrastructure work across startups, consulting, and major vendors—most recently at CoreWeave and DigitalOcean—focusing on VPC connectivity, NIC performance tuning, and distributed services. Bob’s background includes protocol daemon infrastructure at Juniper and leading the Routing Policy Language effort at Cisco’s CRS-1, giving him a rare blend of protocol internals, kernel interfacing, and product delivery experience. He routinely tackles performance, redundancy, and scaling challenges at extreme scale and has a track record of translating customer requirements into robust, debuggable routing systems. Based in Minnetonka, MN, he pairs hands-on engineering with mentorship and frequent customer-facing problem resolution.
