Top SchoolBora Kaplan is a Senior Data Engineer based in Berlin with nine years of experience building real-time, scalable data platforms and streaming applications. He specializes in Scala, Akka, Flink, Spark and cloud-native architectures, having migrated on-prem systems to GCP, redesigned resiliency-sensitive POS data flows, and implemented CDC and real-time personalization that measurably improved business metrics. At Trendyol and VNGRS he cut job runtimes, replaced failure-prone systems with fault-tolerant stream processing, and led standardization and mentoring to raise team productivity. Now at GetYourGuide he continues to drive fast-data solutions and maintainable architectures focused on high throughput and operational reliability. Known for preferring functional approaches and clean code, he pairs hands-on coding with pragmatic CI/CD and Kubernetes deployments to keep systems both efficient and easy to operate.
