Top SchoolBowser Hickenbottom is a seasoned software engineer and founder with two decades of experience building systems for Microsoft, Unity, Amazon, and his indie studio Protosprite. He blends deep hands-on expertise in C# and Python with production experience in C++, C, and Go, having architected cross-platform game engines, telemetry platforms, and large-scale data pipelines. At Unity he single-handedly designed a live telemetry aggregation platform used for crash reporting and ML-driven insights, and at Amazon he focused on scaling Ads data pipelines and ML experimentation. As founder of Protosprite he built a custom C# engine and shipped Cartridge the Tiger on Steam, proving he can take complex engine work from prototype to commercial release. He also experiments with training AI models and reimplementing research papers in his spare time, bridging cutting-edge ML with practical engineering. Based in Carnation, WA, he combines startup agility with enterprise-grade systems thinking and a knack for building almost everything from scratch.
