Top SchoolBrad Benson is a versatile software engineer and technical leader with 14+ years building embedded Linux, mobile, and real-time systems and a parallel career as a commercial airline captain. He has designed and shipped firmware-to-cloud solutions—leading architecture and teams at Trane and Jamf, founding a contract embedded hardware/software shop, and delivering mobile and web clients across startups and enterprises. A hands-on architect who moves between low-level C/C++ and modern Node.js or mobile stacks, he also coaches Agile teams and has served as scrum master and servant leader. His work blends deep systems expertise (including real-time and protocol stacks) with product-facing mobile and web integrations. Based in Saint Paul, he pairs a lifelong programmer’s curiosity with practical aviation discipline, bringing unusual resilience and operational rigor to engineering teams.
