Braden Wong is a founder and open-source software engineer with eight years of startup experience and a track record of averaging over 10k commits per year. He builds local-first, plain-text-first tooling to help people own their data—most recently founding Epicenter to create an interoperable personal workspace—and has shipped production frontends that scaled to hundreds of thousands of monthly users. A Yale EPE graduate who learned to code by reverse-engineering projects in quarantine, he thrives at the intersection of code and prose, often writing and publishing his work publicly. Comfortable across full-stack stacks (Vue, Svelte, React) and SQLite/plain-text architectures, he blends fast iteration from campus hack projects with production rigor gained at multiple YC startups. Outside of engineering he pursues creative outlets—writing, LEGOs, and philosophical conversation—which inform his human-centered approach to tooling.
