Top SchoolBrent Schmidt is a versatile software engineer with 11 years of experience building full-stack web and PC products, now based in Boston. He has led complex front-end and infrastructure projects—most recently at O'Reilly where he modernized legacy systems, built accessible React component libraries, and reduced E2E test times by up to 80% through Argo workflows. His background spans browser extensions, Kubernetes automation, and developer experience improvements like rolling out Development Containers across hundreds of projects. Earlier work in game development honed his systems thinking and tooling skills, from server persistence to C# content tools, giving him a rare blend of product-focused design and hands-on engineering. Friendly and collaborative, he often tackles cross-disciplinary problems that improve maintainability and developer productivity. Colleagues rely on him for pragmatic automation and migration strategies that make large codebases safer to evolve.
