Summary
👤
SeniorBrett Sheffield is a founder and seasoned open source software engineer based in Edinburgh with 13 years of professional experience building decentralized Internet infrastructure. He has led multiple ventures—currently Librecast, which focuses on decentralizing the Internet with IPv6 multicast, and Gladserv, an open source hosting and infrastructure provider emphasizing virtualization, scalability and high availability. Early entrepreneurship dates back to 1995, and he continues to blend hands-on engineering with company leadership as Managing Director of Penguin Factory Ltd. A passionate free software hacker, Brett champions IPv6 and multicast as practical tools for a more resilient, decentralized network. An unexpected detail: alongside deep networking expertise he’s also an aficionado of tractors, reflecting a pragmatic, tinkerer’s approach to both hardware and software.
