Top SchoolBrian Cline is a founder and software engineer in Berkeley who combines nearly 20 years as a professional mariner and sailing instructor with 11 years building businesses and apps that simplify complex skills. He designs voice-first and workflow-driven tools—like SailorSkills and a mobile app that converts voice memos into invoices—by breaking hard problems into teachable steps and empowering users to move from nervous to confident. As Chief Instigator at Cirrus Collective he created a free, remote 30-day intro to computer science and JavaScript, and his work spans marketplaces, guided practices for conflict, and structured LifeSkills for AI assistants. His hands-on maritime leadership (USCG Master training) informs a practical, safety-first approach to product design and team coaching.
