Summary
👤
SeniorBrian Misiak is a software engineer with nearly two decades of hands-on experience building scalable, user-facing systems—from founding and architecting a high‑traffic MMORPG with hundreds of thousands of players to shipping apps on the Mac App Store. Currently at Discord after a senior full‑stack role at Rivian, he blends backend systems work in Rust and C/C++ with frontend and embedded projects, including an ESP32-based EV charger and SwiftUI clients. He has driven high‑impact features like crypto and multi‑currency support, massive search performance gains, and robust anti‑cheat and economy systems that sustained a freemium game business model. An active open‑source contributor (including to the Rust compiler and popular crates), he cares deeply about security, Linux, networks, and digital payments. Based in San Francisco, he pairs entrepreneurial product instincts with pragmatic engineering and a knack for automating operations to reduce support load and latency spikes.
