Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolBrooke Angel is a Senior Software Engineer based in Berkeley with 10 years of experience building web and service-oriented systems, currently driving product work at Via on sustainable and equitable transportation. She brings a full-stack mindset informed by prior roles at NoRedInk (Elm, Elixir, Rails, JS) and a background in teaching and curriculum development from App Academy where she also launched diversity initiatives. Brooke pairs rigorous engineering practice—deploy automation, performance tuning, and demo environment tooling—with user-focused product collaboration across cross-functional teams. Her early training in neurobiology and lab research gives her a data-driven curiosity and attention to experimental detail that she applies to debugging and optimization. Comfortable mentoring and communicating complex topics, she’s equally at home in production codebases and in the classroom. Outside work, her GitHub bio hints at a playful side—“Those llamas and I are talking code”—which reflects her collaborative, human-centered approach to engineering.
