Top SchoolBruno Carrez is a research software engineer and C++ specialist with over two decades of hands-on experience spanning commercial game development, mobile apps, and research-driven robotics and simulation. He helped build core engines—physics, sound, camera—and multi-platform SDKs at Hydravision, led programming on console and handheld titles, and later transitioned to INRIA where he modernized SOFA’s tooling (SVN→Git, qmake→CMake), added Python bindings, and ran CI and team support. As a mobile indie he shipped a half-million-download physics game and contributed to the Android hit Beautiful Widgets, showing an ability to take polished consumer products from prototype to market. At Mila and DEFROST he combines software, 3D printing, electronics and robot prototyping to bridge simulation and physical systems, running a mini-fablab and supporting institute-wide CI. Colleagues value him for pragmatic engineering, cross-disciplinary mentorship, and for turning research needs into production-ready developer workflows.
