Senior🎓
Top SchoolBurgess Chen is a seasoned backend developer with 10 years of experience building and modernizing cloud-native web systems, from PHP/Laravel and Node.js to Go services. He combines hands-on engineering—optimizing runtime with RoadRunner/Laravel Octane and migrating projects to ESM/Prisma—with infrastructure expertise in AWS (EKS, Lambda, Aurora, DocumentDB) and Kubernetes tooling (kubectl, Helm, ArgoCD, Terraform). He has led teams through legacy refactors, API design (OpenAPI 3.0), CI/CD automation, and observability work, balancing code quality (linting, tests, code review) with delivery schedules. Comfortable across databases (MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB) and server stacks (Nginx, Apache), he frequently implements asynchronous architectures using EventBridge and serverless patterns. Based in Taichung, Taiwan, Burgess blends an aerospace/physics academic background with pragmatic software craft, and he favors measurable performance gains and maintainability in long-lived systems.
