Senior🎓
Top SchoolBurhan Abdi is an Engineering Manager at Apple with over 11 years of experience building and operating large-scale, cloud-native systems across finance (Apple Pay), media, and gaming. He combines hands-on expertise in Python, Go and Java with deep DevOps and SRE practice—Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and extensive CI/CD and configuration management tooling—to deliver highly available services. His background spans both hands-on platform work and people leadership, progressing from senior systems administration and application support into strategic reliability and engineering management roles. He is comfortable across the stack from databases (MySQL, MongoDB, HBase) to web frameworks and edge caching, and has run production load and resilience testing with JMeter/Gatling and observability pipelines including ELK and Grafana. Notably, Burhan has repeatedly transitioned into higher-impact roles within the same large organizations (Apple) while maintaining a practical engineering mindset. Based in the UK with a BSc in Information Technology, he brings a blend of operational rigor, platform-scale thinking, and mentorship to cross-functional teams.
