Top SchoolCameron Barrie is a PhD candidate in Computer Science at Northwestern University with 11 years of engineering experience building applied software systems and research prototypes. He combines industry-hardened production development—maintaining mill control and operator-facing dashboards for EVRAZ North America and contributing avionics mapping features at Garmin—with academic NLP research focused on conversational, agentic systems that make data more accessible through automated analytics (Satyrn). Comfortable mentoring undergraduates and collaborating closely with domain experts, he bridges human-centered design and backend engineering. Notably, his background spans embedded data-collection systems and large-scale operator software, giving him a practical edge in turning research ideas into usable products.
