Summary
👤
SeniorCarey Bishop is a Senior Software Engineer with 16 years’ experience building desktop and web applications, currently shaping deployment tooling at Octopus Deploy from Christchurch, New Zealand. He blends hands-on engineering with people leadership, frequently acting as the bridge between technical teams, product stakeholders, and customers. Deeply curious about Human-Computer Interaction and reverse engineering, he routinely digs into internals to simplify business processes and improve system behavior. Carey is an advocate for developer tooling and coding standards—leveraging tools like ReSharper and Visual Studio to eliminate locking errors, nullability issues, and disposability anti-patterns across teams. Known for explaining complex concepts clearly, he pairs technical rigor with a practical focus on making codebases safer and easier to maintain.
