Top SchoolCarl Carlsen is an interdisciplinary technical artist and interaction designer who has spent two decades shaping mixed-reality, generative and visual-music experiences for cultural institutions and commercial clients worldwide. As owner of Sixth Sensor he prototypes creative interfaces and immersive installations using Unity and stereoscopic/Peppers Ghost techniques, collaborating with clients like Unity, Lego, IKEA and Hasbro while also maintaining an active performance and exhibition practice. His work bridges R&D and live performance—earning recent recognition such as the CPH:DOX INTER:ACTIVE Award and an Ars Electronica honorable mention—by exploring the uncanny sensations when simulated generative systems become embodied in physical space. A seasoned lecturer and mentor, he teaches programming and sound-visualisation at design schools and universities, and co-founded a national soundscape education initiative that produced over a thousand student works. Notably, he thrives in early-stage ideation and prototyping, where mathematics, music and graphics converge into unexpected interactive experiences.
