Top SchoolCarlos Orrego is a Lead Senior Staff Software Engineer with 11 years of professional experience building and modernizing enterprise-grade systems across the US and Chile. He led a successful migration of a decade-old flagship CRM/BPM/BI product from VB6 to C#/.NET and modern web technologies, improving security, scalability, and maintainability while introducing SOA patterns and persistence-agnostic design. At The Trade Desk he progressed through senior technical roles into staff and lead positions, applying pragmatic architecture, CI/CD, and automated testing to accelerate delivery. Carlos blends hands-on coding with developer enablement—running training, promoting Git-based workflows, and instituting CI and UI automation practices that raised team velocity and product quality. He holds an MS in Computer Science from Stony Brook and has entrepreneurial experience founding a software company and shipping domain-specific products in healthcare and analytics. A creative, resourceful engineer, he focuses as much on processes and team effectiveness as on choosing the right technologies.
