Top SchoolCharles Batty-capps is a Senior Principal Software Engineer with 14 years of experience building backend systems and data products for cloud-native construction and field-data platforms. Currently at Autodesk Construction Cloud, he has advanced from senior engineer to principal and now senior principal, applying scalable microservice design, data pipelines, and applied analytics across large production systems. His background includes architecting GCP-based services at Premise Data—where he helped design reservation/payment systems and earned a patent for localized content—and early work on Java testing frameworks at Jive. With formal training in mathematics, physics, computer science, and a recent Data Science master's from UC Berkeley, he blends rigorous analytical thinking with practical engineering judgment. Based in Pittsburgh and open to remote roles, he prefers solving tricky backend and data-integration problems that bridge product, mobile, and analytics teams.
