Senior🎓
Top SchoolCharles Neau is a pragmatic full-stack software engineer with 11 years’ experience building and operating research-oriented applications from design through deployment. Based in Edinburgh, he primarily codes in Go, JavaScript and Java while driving DevOps practices—Docker, CI/CD, automated testing and cloud—to shorten feedback loops and automate deployments. His background spans academic research projects and industry, where he transitioned legacy front-end patterns to modern stacks like Meteor and explored frameworks such as React and Spring. Comfortable in both startup-style projects and regimented environments (including a military-grade internship), he brings strong systems thinking and a taste for automating repetitive work. Charles pairs hands-on implementation with an eye for developer ergonomics, often working on end-to-end pipelines that make his own job easier. Outside of code he balances technical curiosity with quirky lab-side hobbies, hinting at a methodical, experimental approach to problem solving.
