He currently co-leads Starbeam, an AI-first wellness startup, while running Applied Metadata, a software firm serving financial services, e-commerce, data analytics, and AI clients. Chau has repeatedly built AI and computer-vision products for healthcare and finance—most recently designing smart glass applications and automating personalized presentations for advisors—while earlier licensing mobile payment patents adopted by major wallets. His background blends technical depth in computer engineering with clinical and pharmacy training (PharmD, UC San Francisco) and interdisciplinary studies at UC San Diego, which helps him bridge healthcare, data, and product strategy. Notably, he launched one of the early decentralized social networks and created mathematical models for matchmaking, showing a long history of applying research-driven thinking to consumer-scale problems. Based in Garden Grove, CA, Chau pairs inventor-level IP development with hands-on product engineering to take experimental AI ideas into regulated, real-world use.
