Software Engineer
Summary
👤
SeniorChay Choong is a Platform Engineer with nine years of experience building and operating cloud-native infrastructure and developer platforms, currently focusing on UE5-powered web applications. He blends hands-on engineering in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python and Go with pragmatic infrastructure work—Kubernetes, WireGuard, OPNSense, and Nix—to deliver on-prem and cloud deployment strategies. Previously at Motional he governed ~100 AWS accounts, centralized ArgoCD-driven cluster management, and authored autoscaling self-hosted GitHub Actions runners, demonstrating strong SRE and automation chops. His background includes backend systems for autonomous vehicle operations and developer workflow improvements like conventional commits and Terraform automation. Early work in consulting produced automation and VR tools for engineering workflows, reflecting an appetite for applied research and multidisciplinary projects. Based in Singapore, he combines platform craft with a propensity for standardizing build environments and observability at scale.
