Senior🎓
Top SchoolChih-chun Chen is a researcher and data scientist based in Berlin with 14 years’ experience applying computational modelling and complexity science to real-world problems across academia, edtech and industry. He co-founded multiple education ventures including Cambridge Spark and Cambridge Coding Academy, and now leads an AI-augmented research project comparing global history curricula by combining large and “thick” qualitative datasets, expert interviews and human-guided LLM workflows. Comfortable bridging rigorous academic methods (PhD in Computer Science, UCL) with product-facing data science, he has worked in roles from research labs to commercial data teams at Cambridge University Press and SmartRecruiters. Passionate about education in developing and crisis regions, he also mentors aspiring data scientists and designs workflows that make machine analysis interpretable for policy and pedagogy. An uncommon strength is his ability to blend agent-based and complexity modelling perspectives with natural language techniques to surface divergent historical narratives at scale.
