Chris De Claverie is an aerospace engineer and project lead with a decade of hands-on experience building flight-critical systems, from leading GNC and flight-computing teams to running electronics and embedded systems at a growing space startup. He joined Gama as the third employee, drove hires and technical direction, and led the design, manufacture and operation of the GAMA Alpha solar sail demonstration as well as a Zero-G experiment flown with astronaut Thomas Pesquet. Founder of the IPSA ONE cubesat initiative, he combines systems engineering rigor with founding-stage agility, having also specialized in aerospace avionics and plasma diagnostics during stints at ESA/ESTEC and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. Known for translating high-risk space concepts into compact, reliable hardware—most recently the Astrobrake-S deorbit device—he excels at cross-disciplinary coordination across software, electronics and propulsion. Based in Ivry-sur-Seine, he blends research-grade testing experience with startup execution and a knack for building small, effective teams.
