Summary
👤
SeniorChris Demars is a Senior Developer Advocate with over a decade of focused DevRel experience and more than 20 years in the web industry, specializing in web accessibility, frontend performance, and developer community building. He has driven measurable community growth—revitalizing platforms, expanding Discord/Slack membership by 30%, and boosting social followership at TuxCare—while producing technical content, videos, and regular live streams. A 5x Microsoft MVP and multi-award DevRel veteran, Chris has spoken internationally on accessibility, secure JavaScript, SBOMs, and CSS, and maintains a public record of his talks and engagements. He blends hands-on frontend engineering (Next.js, SCSS, performance tuning) with strategic DevRel programs that align product, marketing, and engineering goals. Notably, he pairs accessibility advocacy with practical delivery: converting sites to 100% Lighthouse accessibility scores and embedding accessibility practices into large organizations. Based in Michigan, he’s equally comfortable behind a camera producing developer video content as he is leading technical workshops and community campaigns.
